Pooles Island Light

 

Start:  Between yellow flag on RC boat and Region 2, Chesapeake Bay Area Mark “T”   (Baltimore Light).

Finish:  Same as start unless the course is shortened.

 

Course:  All marks are listed in Region 2, Chesapeake Bay Area Standard Racing Marks.

Code Flag ‘A’:  Round Mark ‘R’ (Sandy Point Light) and Mark ‘B’ (G’7’) to port; Mark “N” (Craig Hill Light) and Mark ‘M’ Pooles Island Light to starboard, to Finish (38 nautical miles).

Code Flag ‘C’: Indicated by letters displayed on RC boat and shown on Region 2 Chesapeake Bay Area Standard Racing Marks.

Protests:  Postmarked by Tuesday 21 June and sent to address above for entry--Call first. Heard starting 1800 hours on Friday 24 June at PSA Clubhouse - Cove Road off Lake Shore Drive and Ferry Point Road, Pasadena, MD. Contact Ed Poe 410-842-2069(W), 866-470-0961(Toll Free), 410-296-6428(H).

 

Awards:  1st/3, 2nd/5, 3rd/7, 4th/12 or more finishers.  Presented at the Fall PSA Trophy Party/Oyster Feast, 12 November, 5pm.  Invitations will be sent.

 

Social:   All Skippers and Crew are invited to a hearty and fun ‘Sailor’s Breakfast’ at the PSA Club House immediately after finish. PSA is located on Black Hole Creek, north side of the Magothy River, 30 minutes from finish.  There is also a good anchorage for overnighters.

 

Other:  A yacht abandoning the race or finishing after the RC has left station must take her own time and report to the RC , phone at 410-360-5791. Yachts are requested to identify themselves when finishing by shining a light upon their sail numbers. VHF Channel 68 may be used to hail premature starters and for general RC communications.
